Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 11/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Gale Warning coastal waters between Seal Rocks and Gabo Island. Strong Wind
Warning for coastal waters between Smoky Cape and Seal Rocks. Flood Warning for
the Paroo River.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A High over New South Wales will move over the  coast during Friday then over
the northern Tasman during the weekend. A developing Low in the Bight will move
slowly eastwards during this period with a trough to the north of the Low
crossing  New South Wales during the weekend. The airmass over the New South
Wales continent is currently very dry, resulting in continued cold mornings and
only light precipitation with the trough, falling as  snow on the Alps.
Forecast for Friday
Widespread early frost and local fog.  High cloud extending eastwards over much
of the inland during the day, but remaining fine apart from the chance of a late
shower in the far southwest.  Light winds tending moderate to fresh northerly in
the far west.
Forecast for Saturday
Early frosts and local fog. Partly cloudy over the inland with isolated light
showers extending to southern and central areas and falling as snow on the Alps.
Fine in the northeast. Moderate to fresh north to northwest winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers over the southern half of  the inland, tending scattered on the
southwestern slopes.  Snow on the Alps. Fine elsewhere. West to northwest winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers over the southern half of the inland and in the northeast.
Light snowshowers on the Alps. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds.
