Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Mar 9/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warnings A strong wind warning is current for all Victorian coastal waters. Weather Pattern A low pressure trough just east of Victoria will weaken today. A high pressure system south of Tasmania will move slowly eastwards to be centred over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday. A weak cold front will approach Victoria on Wednesday then extend across the State on Thursday. Victoria Monday: A few showers and drizzle patches on and south of the ranges, more widespread in East Gippsland but mostly clearing in the west. Fine on the northern plains. Mild to warm in the north and cool to mild in the south. Moderate to fresh south to southeasterly wind tending more easterly along the coast. Fire Danger : Moderate to high rising to very high in the northeast. UV Index: 8 [very high] decreasing to 4 [moderate] under cloud. Tuesday: A few showers in the far east, clearing. Morning fog and drizzle in the south. Mild to warm. Wednesday: Morning fog patches in the south, otherwise fine. Warm to hot. Thursday: Isolated showers on and south of the ranges.
