Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Mar 7/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warnings A strong wind warning has been issued for all Victorian coastal waters including Port Phillip and Western Port. Weather Pattern A low pressure trough over eastern Victoria will move slowly eastwards and deepen today before slowly weakening. A high pressure system to the southwest of Victoria will also move slowly eastwards, crossing Tasmania during Monday night to become centred over the Tasman Sea during Tuesday. Victoria Saturday: Scattered showers over southern and mountain districts tending to rain in the east during the day. Isolated thunderstorms in the east, mainly afternoon and evening. Fine in the northwest. Moderate to fresh southwest to southerly winds tending south to southeasterly. Fire Danger: Generally high rising to very high in the north UV Index: 10 [very high] decreasing to 2 [low] under cloud. Sunday: Showers in southern and mountain districts becoming isolated in the west. Fine in the north. Cool to mild in the south. Mild to warm in the north.
