Australia -- Queensland Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jun 4/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

WARNING SUMMARY
A flood warning is current for the Paroo River.
STATE FORECAST
for Friday
Widespread morning fogs about the eastern half of the state. Isolated afternoon
showers over central and southeastern parts.  Very isolated showers also over
the remainder of the east coast.  Fine over the western half of the state.
Mostly light winds, tending moderate SE over the central and north tropical
coast.
EXTENDED OUTLOOK
On Saturday, an upper trough will approach the western border while a surface
trough moves into the far southwest. Patchy rain areas and possible isolated
thunderstorms are therefore expected to develop over the Channel Country.
Isolated showers near the central coast, also developing through inland parts of
central and southeastern Queensland during the afternoon.
On Sunday, both the surface trough and upper trough move rapidly over southern
Queensland, with patchy rain areas and isolated thunderstorms gradually
contracting into southeastern Queensland. Isolated showers over remaining
central districts and also about the central coast. The troughs will push
offshore of the southeast coast on Sunday evening. Drier SW to S'ly winds will
then extend over most of the state into mid next week, with fine conditions and
