Modest Gain in SA Bean HarvestVANCOUVER - May 26/09 - SNS -- Dry edible bean production in South Africa is up over last year and is nearly identical to the recent five-year average harvest at 63,230 metric tons (MT), according to the latest production estimates from the South African Grain Information Service (SAGIS). The statistics agency noted the latest estimate is "550 MT less than the 63,780 MT of the previous forecast. The area estimate was decreased by 1,000 hectares to 43,800 hectares.
