Eastern U.S. Organic Grain and FeedstuffsSPRINGFIELD - May 20/09 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the eastern cornbelt in the United States.

Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 5/16/2009
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were
mostly steady. Demand was light to moderate for heavy offerings.
Feed grade corn was lower on ample supplies. Wet conditions in the
Eastern cornbelt has dragged producers behind planting activities.
According to the USDA, as of May 17, In Illinois only 20 percent of
the conventional corn crop has been planted, compared with 92 percent
for the 5-year average. Just the same in Indiana, with 24 percent of
the corn crop has been planted versus 83 percent for the 5-year average.
