Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 5/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A low pressure trough will develop over Victoria during Friday. A cold front
south of the Bight will continue moving eastwards, moving through southern
Victoria later Friday.  A high pressure system will develop south of the Bight
by Saturday and then move slowly eastwards. 
Victoria
Thursday:  Fine. A mild to warm and mainly sunny day. Mainly light to moderate
south to southeasterly wind.
Fire Danger: Generally high inland.
UV Index: 10 [very high] 
Friday:    Morning fog patches in Gippsland. Scattered showers and isolated
thunderstorms developing later, mainly in the east.  Generally warm ahead of a
cool change in the southwest. 
Saturday:  Showers in the south tending to rain in east. Isolated thunderstorms.
Cool to mild.
Sunday:    Showers in south.  Mild.
Forecast for Melbourne
Thursday
Fine. A mainly sunny day. Light to moderate south to southeasterly wind.

Fine day. Late change. Few showers at night.    Min 13    Max 29

Showers. Possible thunderstorms.            Min 15    Max 20

Forecast for Port Phillip and Western Port
Thursday:  South to southeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots. Waves of less than 1
metre.
Friday:    Northeast to northerly wind of 10 to 15 knots shifting southerly at
about 15 knots late afternoon. Waves up to one metre.
Saturday:  Southerly wind of 15 to 20 knots.
Sunday:    South to southeasterly wind 10 to 15 knots reaching 20 knots in the
afternoon.
