Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 14/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Gale warning for NSW coastal waters south of Green Cape for Saturday.
Strong wind warning for remaining coastal waters south of Seal Rocks.
Severe Weather Warning for damaging winds in  Alpine Areas.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A strong, slow-moving high pressure system west of the Bight extends
a ridge across western and northern New South Wales.  A low is moving
eastwards, well south of Tasmania. A few cold fronts are expected to
move through the far south of the state today and tomorrow bringing
isolated showers to the southeastern inland and fresh to strong,
gusty westerly winds to southeastern parts of the state. Conditions
should ease by Saturday evening as the Low moves towards New Zealand,
and the high moves further east.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers in the southeastern inland. Fine elsewhere. Frost
patches on the northern ranges. Westerly winds, fresh to strong and
gusty in the south, with raised dust  in the southwest..
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers in the south, mostly on the western slopes of
southern ranges. West to southwest winds, strong and gusty in the
southeast, easing later.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine throughout. Some cloud over the southern inland and northern
coast. Early frost patches on the slopes and ranges. Southwest to
southeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Scattered showers on the far north coast. Isolated showers developing
on the remainder of the north and central coast and adjacent ranges.
Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds, fresh on the north
coast.
