Mixed Performance in Bean MarketsVANCOUVER - May 8/09 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets registered a mixed performance during the past week, with North American domestic markets firming while world markets eased. The U.S. grower index finished the week down 8 points at 982, versus 1197 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 81.4%, down 1.6 points from last week and compared to 80.5% at this time last year. The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1080, up 20 points from the previous week and compared to 1329 last year.
