Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - May 6/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EST Sunday 10 May 2009.
Warning Summary at issue time
Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Point Lonsdale and 60nm east
of Gabo Island.
Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by
telephone 1300-659-217* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A large high pressure system near the Bight will move slowly eastwards to be
situated south of Adelaide by later Saturday and near Tasmania on Sunday. A
cold front will move through Bass Strait early Thursday and a weaker cold front
will move through Tasmania on Saturday.
Forecast for the rest of Wednesday
Isolated showers in the south. Generally light winds tending southwest to
southerly .
Forecast for Thursday
Scattered showers, on and south of the ranges and isolated showers possible
over the north. Early frost in the northeast. Cool with moderate to fresh south
to southwest winds extending throughout.
Forecast for Friday
Local early frost in the north. Isolated showers or drizzle in southern and
mountain areas, contracting to the coast by the afternoon. Cool with light to
moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers in the south. Local early frost over the northeast Cool with
light to moderate south to southeasterly winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Early frost in the northeast. Isolated showers in the south. Cool with light to
moderate south to southeasterly winds.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 5:00 am EST Thursday.
