Record Pulse Export From MyanmarVANCOUVER - May 5/09 - SNS -- Pulse exports from Myanmar are off to a strong start this year, with shipments in January and February up 57% from the same period last year and almost two and half times higher than the recent five year average for those two months at a record 361,855 metric tons (MT). India is the main destination for pulses shipped from Myanmar, taking 153,284 MT of all pulses in February, or 90.6% of all pulses shipped during the month. The United Arab Emirates were the next most important destination, taking 4,113 MT of pulses; followed by Pakistan at 3,471 MT and Singapore at 2,796 MT.
