Warning Summary at issue time Severe weather warning for the Alpine Areas forecast district forecast district. Warning to sheep graziers for the Wimmera, Western, North Central, Central and West and South Gippsland forecast districts. Gale warning for Victorian waters between SA-VIC Border and Warrnambool. Gale warning for Victorian waters between Lakes Entrance and 60nm east of Gabo Island. Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Warrnambool and Lakes Entrance. Strong wind warning is current for Western Port. Strong wind warning is current for Port Phillip. Weather Situation A cold front crossing Victoria will clear eastwards overnight. Another cold front south of the Bight will move across Victoria late Saturday as a low pressure system develops just west of Tasmania. The low will move move eastwards during Sunday producing a vigorous west to southwest airflow across Victoria. The low will slide rapidly away to the southeast on Monday. Yet another front will affect Victoria on Tuesday. Forecast for the rest of Friday Rain areas and isolated thunderstorms contracting eastwards overnight leaving isolated showers over southern and mountain districts. Fresh to locally strong north to northwest winds shifting west to southwesterly from the west. Forecast for Saturday Showers increasing from the west, tending to rain areas during the afternoon. Isolated thunderstorms and hail extending from the southwest later. Moderate to fresh northwest to westerly winds turning colder and squally west to southwest in the west later. Maximum Fire Danger: Low to moderate. Forecast for Sunday Scattered showers mainly on and south of the divide, more widespread about the ranges and near the coast. Local hail and thunder in the south and east. Strong to gale force west to northwesterly winds, shifting colder, strong and squally west to southwesterly. Snow developing on the ranges above 1000 metres. Forecast for Monday Morning frost patches in the north. Scattered showers on an south of the ranges, isolated in the north. Cool to cold with fresh to strong southwest winds in the southeast at first, moderating and tending northwest during the day. Forecast for Tuesday Isolated showers, more widespread about the ranges and near the coast. Cool with moderate to locally fresh west to southwesterly winds.
