USDA National Grain ReviewST. JOSEPH - Apr 24/09 - SNS -- The USDA issued its latest weekly national grain market review, covering the period through Apr 24. WEEKLY NATIONAL GRAIN MARKET REVIEW Compared to last week, grain and soybean bids were mostly lower. Grain saw pressure from fund selling, lower stock market, crude oil, and higher dollar. However, the outside markets reversed, spilling over into the row crops which helped recover some of the losses. Minneapolis wheat traded sharply higher due to planting delays in North Dakota. Wheat had export sales of 232,200 tonnes for current marketing year and 199,300 for next year. Corn saw some support from wet weather forecast over the weekend and strong export sales. Export sales for corn came in at 1,214,300 tonnes for current year and 69,500 tonnes for next year. Soybeans export sales came in at 617,100 tonnes for current year and 824,200 tonnes for next year. Wheat was 1 cent lower to 50 cents higher. Yellow Corn was 1-6 cents lower. Sorghum was 3-12 cents lower. Soybeans were 18-23 cents lower. WHEAT: Kansas City US No 1 Hard Red Winter, ordinary protein rail bid was 14 cents higher from 5.87-6.44 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Soft Red Winter rail bid was 14 cents higher from 4.56-5.31 per bushel. St. Louis truck US No 2 Soft Red Winter terminal bid was 1 cent lower at 4.41 per bushel. Minneapolis and Duluth US No 1 Dark Northern Spring, 14.0 to 14.5 percent protein rail, was 35 3/4 to 50 3/4 cents higher at 7.72 1/4 per bushel. Portland US Soft White wheat rail bid was steady to 1 cent lower from 5.40-5.52 per bushel. CORN: Kansas City US No 2 rail White Corn was 12 cents lower from 3.81-3.87 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 5 cents lower from 3.69- 3.73 per bushel. Omaha US No 2 truck Yellow Corn was 2 to 3 cents lower from 3.71-3.78 per bushel. Chicago US No 2 Yellow Corn was 4 3/4 to 6 3/4 cents lower from 3.60-3.87 per bushel. Toledo US No 2 rail Yellow corn was 3 3/4 cents lower from 3.72-3.76 per bushel. Minneapolis US No 2 Yellow Corn rail was 1 3/4 cents lower at 3.66 per bushel. OATS AND BARLEY: US 2 or Better oats, rail bid to arrive at Minneapolis 20 day was 6 1/2 to 16 1/2 cents higher from 2.03-2.13 per bushel. US No 3 or better rail malting Barley, 70 percent or better plump out of Minneapolis has no comparison at 3.90 per bushel. Portland US 2 Barley, unit trains and Barges- export was not available per cwt. SORGHUM: US No 2 yellow truck, Kansas City was 9 cents lower at 5.64 per cwt. Texas High Plains US No 2 yellow sorghum (prices paid or bid to the farmer, fob elevator) was 3 to 12 cents lower from 5.11-5.25 per cwt. OILSEEDS: Minneapolis Yellow truck soybeans, were 18 3/4 cents lower at 10.21 3/4 per bushel. Illinois Processors US No 1 Yellow truck soybeans were 20 1/2 to 23 1/2 cents lower from 10.36-10.45 per bushel. Kansas City US No 2 Yellow truck soybeans were 23 cents lower at 10.34 per bushel. Central Illinois 48 percent Soybean meal, processor rail bid was 1.50 to 4.50 lower from 330.90- 334.90 per ton.
