MELBOURNE - Feb 28/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.
UPDATED WARNINGS: Cyclone Warning for coastal areas from Bidyadanga to Pardoo extending inland to Telfer. Flood Warning for the Fitzroy River Catchment. Flood Watch for the Pilbara Region. Wind Warnings for coastal waters from the NT Border to Cape Preston. Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters from Cape Naturaliste to Windy Harbour. Fire Weather Warning for the coastal sub division of the Central West District. STATE FORECAST Kimberley, east Pilbara and northern Interior: Widespread rain and thunderstorms with heavy falls and flooding, slowly easing from the north. Winds gale force at first in the east Pilbara and far SW Kimberley but easing later in the day. Central Pilbara: Isolated showers and thunderstorms. Windy. South coast and Eucla: Isolated light showers contracting eastwards. PERTH AND METROPOLITAN: Fine and sunny. Fresh and gusty E'ly winds, easing in the afternoon.
