Warning Summary at issue time Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Cape Otway and Wilsons Promontory. Gale warning for Victorian waters between Wilsons Promontory and 60nm east of Gabo Island. Weather Situation A vigorous and unstable southwesterly airstream will persist over Victoria tonight as a strong high pressure system remains well to the west over the Southern Ocean. The high will move to the south of the Bight during Tuesday before reaching Bass Strait on Wednesday and the Tasman Sea on Thursday. A cold front will move through southern Victoria and Bass Strait on Friday. Forecast for the rest of Monday Scattered showers in southern and mountain districts. Moderate to fresh south to southwesterly winds. Forecast for Tuesday Scattered showers in the south becoming isolated during the day. Local early frost in the northeast. Sunny in the north. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh south to southwest winds, easing in the west. Maximum Fire Danger: High in the north.
