Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 27/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure trough is expected to weaken over the northeast of the state
tonight as a high pressure ridge extends over southern parts of the state. This
ridge will remain over southern NSW over the weekend, maintaining a southeast
airflow and showers over the northern half of the coast and adjacent ranges.
The ridge will move south of NSW on Monday, with onshore flow deepening and
associated showers extending southwards along the coast and adjacent ranges.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers on the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges, tending
scattered near the coast north of about Taree, and clearing in the south in the
morning. Isolated morning fog patches over southern and central ranges. Fine
over the remainder. Southeast to northeast winds, tending light and variable in
the southwest.
Fire danger: Very high Riverina
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers over the northeast quarter, tending scattered near the coast
north of about Taree. Fine over the remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges north of about Batemans Bay,
tending scattered along the coast north of about Newcastle. Fine over the
remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered over the
northeastern corner with frequent showers along the north coast. Southeast to
northeast winds.
