Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Feb 26/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. UPDATED Warnings A severe thunderstorm advice is current for the Alpine and Gippsland Districts until 8pm. Weather Pattern A low pressure trough over Victoria will move eastwards on Thursday as a cold front approaches from the west. The front will move across Victoria later Thursday and Thursday night with another front to follow overnight Friday, establishing a cooler southwesterly flow for the weekend. Victoria Tonight and Thursday: Isolated showers and thunderstorms about the ranges, with possible heavy rain and large hail in the east, clearing tonight. Morning fog patches in the south then a generally warm and humid day with scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms developing. Light wind tending moderate northeast to northerly ahead of a milder southwesterly change developing in the west in the morning and extending to central areas later in the day. Fire Danger: High to very high UV Index: 9 [very high] decreasing to 4 [moderate] under cloud. Friday: Rain in the east clearing. Showers to follow, mainly on and south of the ranges. Cool to mild.
