Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Strong Wind Warning for NSW coastal waters between Wooli and Seal Rocks.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure trough will move through the northeast of the state today before
weakening as a high pressure ridge extends over southern parts of the state.
This ridge will remain over southern NSW over the weekend, maintaining a
southeast airflow and showers over the northern half of the coast and adjacent
ranges.  Thunderstorms are also possible on the western slopes north of about
Dubbo today in the unstable airmass associated with the trough. The ridge will
move south of NSW on Monday, with southeasterly flow and associated showers
extending southwards along the coast.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, tending scattered with
isolated thunderstorms north of about Newcastle. Isolated thunderstorms also
possible on the western slopes of the ranges north of about Dubbo. Fine over the
remainder. Moderate to fresh south to southeast winds extending throughout.
Fire danger: Very high Upper Western, Lower Western, Riverina
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers on the central and northern coasts and adjacent ranges, tending
scattered near the coast north of about Taree, and clearing around Sydney and
the Illawarra in the morning. Fine over the remainder. Southeast to northeast
winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers over the northeast quarter, tending scattered near the coast
north of about Taree. Fine over the remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers on the coast and adjacent ranges north of about Batemans Bay,
tending scattered along the coast north of about Newcastle. Fine over the
remainder. Southeast to northeast winds.
