Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EDT Monday 30 March 2009.
Warning Summary at issue time
Strong wind warning for Victorian waters between Wilsons Promontory and 60nm
east of Gabo Island.
Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by
telephone 1300-659-217* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A high pressure system is approaching western Victoria and will gradually move
eastwards to reach the Tasman Sea over the weekend. Another strong high
pressure system will drift well to the south of Tasmania on Monday.
Forecast for the rest of Friday
Isolated morning showers in the south, mainly near the coast. Fine over the
remainder. Cloud clearing. Cool to mild with moderate to fresh south to
southwest winds.
Maximum Fire Danger: Generally high, reaching very high in the north.
Forecast for Saturday
A fine and mainly sunny day. Generally mild with light to moderate
northwesterly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine. A mainly sunny day. Generally light winds and afternoon coastal
seabreezes.
Forecast for Monday
Early drizzle patches clearing about the central coast. Isolated showers
possible on and south of the ranges during the afternoon and evening. Mild to
warm with light to moderate south to southeast winds, freshening about the
coast.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Friday.
