Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 26/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Strong Wind Warning for all NSW coastal waters.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure trough is crossing western and central NSW as a front is moving
across the southwestern Tasman Sea. The trough will move through the northeast
on Friday before weakening as a high pressure ridge  extends over southern parts
of the state. A new high will develop over the Tasman for the weekend with a
ridge extending to southern and central NSW and a southeast airflow onto the
north coast. Another high will be building up south of Tasmania early next week
still maintaining southeast to northeast airstream over the most of the State.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges, and western slopes of the
northern ranges, with the chance of thunderstorms in the north. Showers clearing
on the southern coast. Fine remainder. South to southeast winds extending
throughout, fresh to strong on the coast, easing from the south later tomorrow.
Fire danger: Very high Upper Western, Lower Western, Riverina
Forecast for Saturday
Scattered showers on the north coast. Isolated showers over the remainder of
coast and ranges north from Illawarra, clearing from the south. Fine remainder.
Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers over the northeast quarter, tending scattered on the far north
coast. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Scattered showers on the north coast. Isolated showers over the remainder of
coast and ranges north from Illawarra. Fine remainder. Southeast to northeast
winds.
