Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Mar 20/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A slow-moving high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge across New South Wales. An upper level trough will contract to the far northeast on Saturday with showers and isolated afternoon thunderstorms possible there. On Sunday a low pressure trough is expected to move over the southwest of the state as the high moves south and the ridge weakens, with isolated light showers developing in the far south of the state. Isolated coastal showers in north eastern coastal parts are set to continue until Monday under the influence of southeast winds. A tropical low in the Coral Sea is deepening over the next few days and may develop into a tropical cyclone. Forecast for Saturday Isolated showers about the northern half of the coast and adjacent east ranges, clearing from the south, with possible afternoon thunderstorms about the eastern Northern Tablelands. Fine elsewhere. Early fog patches about the southern and central coast and ranges. Southeast to northeast winds in the east and northeast. Variable winds over the remainder .
