Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 12/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea extends a ridge to New
South Wales north coast. A low pressure trough over the western parts
of the state is bringing showers and thunderstorms there. On Saturday
a cold front will move through the west and southeast and then it
will weaken into a trough over the northeast. Unsettled weather
conditions are expected ahead and near the front/trough. Behind the
front a high pressure system will extend a ridge bringing mostly fine
conditions.
Forecast for Friday
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the west and
southeast clearing from the far west in the morning. The chance of
showers in the northeast. Southeast to northeast  winds, tending
north to northwest in the west.
Forecast for Saturday
Fine in the west and in the northeast apart from isolated showers on
the far north coast. Isolated showers and thunderstorms elsewhere
tending scattered in the southeast.  Northwest to northeast ahead of
southwest change in the west and southeast.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast and the chance
of showers over the south and central coasts and ranges. Fine
elsewhere. Northwest to northeast winds in the northeast, south to
southwest in the remainder.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine elsewhere.
East to northeast in the far northeast, southwest to southeast in the
remainder.
