Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 11/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters north of Cape Byron.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site
www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system in the western Tasman Sea is directing an
easterly airstream over New South Wales. This has brought humid
conditions throughout the state, which along with a low pressure
trough in the west, will continue to produce showers and
thunderstorms over parts of the inland during the next few days.
Coastal showers will also continue, and are more frequent towards the
north. On Saturday a cold front will move into the south of the
state, accompanied by unsettled conditions in many districts before
drier air pushes across from the west.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the coast and ranges, mainly during the morning
in the south and tending scattered in the far north. Scattered
showers and isolated thunderstorms also over western and central
western parts of the state. Fine over the northeastern inland.
Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Friday
Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms through western and
central western parts of the state, clearing in the northwest but
extending to the ranges and southern coast during the afternoon.
Isolated showers on the north coast and ranges, and on the central
coast late in the day. Southeast to northeast winds, tending
northerly in the south.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the southeast. Fine over most
of the remainder, just isolated showers on the far north coast and
ranges. Humid northwest to northeast winds, ahead of a south to
southwest change in the west and far south.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms over the northeast. Fine over the
remainder. Southwest winds in the south and west. Northwest to
northeast winds in the northeast.
