Australia -- Victoria Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Feb 23/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warnings A strong wind warning is current for Victorian coastal waters east of Wilsons Promontory. Weather Pattern A weak low pressure will persist from the interior of the continent southwards into northern Victoria until midweek. A high pressure ridge to the south of Victoria will temporarily weaken on Monday allowing a weak cold front to pass south of the State Monday night. A stronger cold front will move from south of the Bight to reach western Victoria late on Thursday. Victoria Monday: Sultry. Local morning fog in the south. Isolated afternoon showers mainly about the ranges. Light to moderate northeast to northerly winds inland becoming variable. Afternoon coastal seabreezes. Fire Danger: Generally moderate to high. UV Index: 10 [very high] decreasing to 4 [moderate] under cloud. Tuesday: Afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the east. Morning fogs and drizzle in the south. Warm. Wednesday: Fine apart from morning fogs in the south and isolated showers in the east. Sultry.
