Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Mar 6/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary at issue time:
Nil.
For the latest warning information please check the Bureau's web site
www.bom.gov.au/weather/nsw
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low over the southern Tasman Sea is moving towards New Zealand, while a strong
high south of WA extends a ridge across NSW, which will be the dominant synoptic
feature for NSW during the next few days. This pattern will promote generally
dry and stable conditions today, although isolated showers are possible on the
far north coast as an onshore flow develops. Showers are likely to reach central
and southern parts of the coast and ranges Sunday as the easterly airstream
becomes more established. Around this time a weak trough is forecast to develop
over inland NSW coinciding with increasing moisture levels across the state,
leading to precipitation over parts of the inland early next week.
Forecast for Saturday
Fine apart from isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges.
Possible early frost patches on the southern ranges, and a few early fog patches
coast and eastern ranges. Southeast to southwest winds inland, and southeast to
northeast winds near the coast. Dangerous surf conditions south facing beaches.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Fine over the remainder.
Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers along the coast and adjacent ranges. Isolated afternoon
thunderstorms in the far west, and possible late showers along the northern
inland border. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Scattered showers in the northeast. Isolated thunderstorms in the west. Isolated
showers remainder. Southeast to northeast winds, freshening on the far north
coast.
