Bean Market Seeks Bullish Idea

VANCOUVER - Feb 27/09 - SNS -- International dry edible bean markets continued to look for some bullish levers to pull, as nominal values in both South and North America eased on the week.

The U.S. grower index finished the week down 2 points at 1045, versus 1119 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 84%, up 1.7 points from last week and compared to 82.5% at this time last year.

The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1113, down 23 points from the previous week and compared to 1213 at this time last year.
