Eastern U.S. Organic Grain and FeedstuffsSPRINGFIELD - Feb 25/09 - SNS -- Bi-weekly USDA report on organic grain and feedstuffs prices in the eastern cornbelt in the United States.
Eastern Cornbelt Organic Grain & Feedstuffs Report (Bi-Weekly)
Weighted Average Report for Week Ending 2/21/2009
Compared to two weeks ago, organic grain and feedstuff prices were
mostly steady. Demand was light for heavy offerings. Feed grade corn
and wheat prices were lower on weak demand. Feed grade soybeans were
steady. A slight rebound in buying interest helped to spark trading
activity with end users reporting an increase in producer selling.
Few millers and end users have reported lower than expected test weights
for corn due to late planting and cooler weather.
January monthly and 4th quarter averages of organic prices located below.
All prices FOB the farm and negotiated spot market.
