IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY A strong wind warning has been issued for St Lawrence to Double Island Point for Monday afternoon. FLOOD WARNING FOR THE GEORGINA RIVER AND EYRE CREEK FLOOD WARNING FOR THE GULF RIVERS INCLUDING LOWER FLINDERS AND THE NORMAN RIVER SYSTEMS FLOOD WARNING FOR THE LOWER DIAMANTINA RIVER FLOOD WARNING FOR THE LOWER THOMSON RIVER AND COOPER CREEK STATE FORECAST for Sunday night and Monday Scattered showers and thunderstorms over northern and central districts, tending to areas of rain in the north with moderate to heavy falls. Isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms in the west. Scattered showers about the southeast coast and adjacent inland. Light to moderate SE to NE winds, becoming moderate to fresh SE along the southern and Capricornia coast. EXTENDED OUTLOOK A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea with a strengthening ridge along the east Queensland coast. Fresh to locally strong SE winds along most of the east coast in the coming days, particularly about the Fraser to southern tropical coast. The inland surface trough will move west of the state on Tuesday. Another upper trough will move across southern Queensland late Tuesday. Scattered showers and thunderstorms should continue over the northern half of the state until mid week in a humid and unstable atmosphere. Local moderate to heavy falls can be expected, particularly near the east coast between Cooktown and Mackay. In the south, isolated afternoon showers or thunderstorms over the Channel Country and western Warrego clearing by Wednesday.
