Easier Finish For Edible Beans

VANCOUVER - Feb 20/09 - SNS -- Dry edible bean markets finished the week's trading on a slightly easier note on account of increased competition for available demand and an absence of recent problems seeding Argentina's crops.

The U.S. grower index finished the week down 2 points at 1047, versus 1090 at this time last year. The grower share of the weighted average dealer price for beans now stands at 82.3%, up 1.1 points from last week and compared to 81% at this time last year.

The U.S. spot market index for dry edible bean finished the week at 1138, down 17 points from the previous week and compared to 1204 at this time last year.
