Lentil Markets Remain Volatile

VANCOUVER - Feb 20/09 - SNS -- International lentil markets remained volatile during the past week, with swinging sharply under the influence of shifting currency values and demand patterns.

Price volatility has had a negative impact on Latin American buying, with importers working hard to match actual needs to purchases.

Interestingly, a small number have reverted to buying mixed containers because the cost of financing imported goods is seen as being greater than the premium demanded by exporters.
