Mixed Finish for Birdseeds
VANCOUVER - Feb 20/09 - SNS -- Birdseed ingredient markets finished the week's trading on a mixed note.
White proso millet and confectionary sunflower seed markets were unchanged in light trade in the United States during the past week.
Oil-type sunflower seed markets remain under the influence of soybean futures, which dropped over 90 cents per bushel during the past week. That market is strongly influenced by prospects for larger world production in 2009-10, but a worse economic situation which could dampen consumer demand.
