Lentil Markets Remain Volatile

VANCOUVER - Feb 14/09 - SNS -- Lentil markets maintained their volatile disposition during the past week, with markets for many classes finishing the week on a stronger note.

The markets' short terms needs and the volume of lentil growers are willing to sell remain out of alignment, with the result markets can appear bearish for a few days, only to be followed by a short term bullish surge in values.

This is most obvious in red lentils because stocks available in Canada have fallen behind the potential needs of the market during the opening quarter of 2009.
