No Surprise in Stocks Report
VANCOUVER - Feb 8/09 - SNS -- International field pea markets were not surprised by last week's stock in all positions report from Statistics Canada, though the quantity on hand may have been larger than some expected.
Given the pace of exports during the fall shipping period and virtual collapse of feed pea demand, markets were looking for above normal inventories in western Canada.
Balancing inventory levels, however, is a general unwillingness by field pea growers in western Canada to capitulate over price.
