Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 28/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
A Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Ulladulla. A Fire
Weather Warning for the Lower Western and Riverina districts. Refer
to www.bom.gov.au for latest warnings and Rural Fire Service Total
Fire Ban information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system over the Tasman Sea will extend a ridge over
New South Wales until Sunday,  with  hot to very hot weather
continuing throughout much of the state. The far north coast and
ranges will have isolated shower activity in an onshore stream, but
the remainder of the state will remain dry. On Sunday a weak trough
is forecast to move into the far south of the state, and this may
produce isolated showers on the far southern ranges and coast, but
conditions west of the ranges are expected to remain hot and dry. On
the coast, daytime temperatures will be tempered by sea breezes.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges,
otherwise fine. Hot to very hot inland. Northeast to northwest winds.
Fire danger: Very High to Extreme in Lower Western and Riverina. Very
High in Central West Slopes and Plains and South West Slopes
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine
elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine
elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. North to northeast winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. The
chance of some afternoon showers also developing the on the southern
and central ranges, extending to the coast later. Fine elsewhere. Hot
very hot inland. Northeast to northwest winds, turning southeasterly
in the south.
