Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 27/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
A Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters south of Ulladulla. A Fire
Weather Warning for the Lower Western and Riverina districts for
Wednesday. Refer to www.bom.gov.au for latest warnings and Rural Fire
Service Total Fire Ban information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
High pressure over the Tasman Sea will dominate the weather for the
remainder of the week with a ridge over New South Wales. Apart from
some shower activity on the northern half of the coast in the onshore
airstream, the remainder of the state will remain dry. Temperatures
will be hot over most of the state, tempered somewhat by coastal
seabreezes, and very hot conditions are likely over southern inland
areas.
Forecast for Wednesday
Scattered showers on the north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine over
the remainder. Hot inland. Northeast to northwest winds, freshening
on the coast in the afternoon.
Fire danger: Very High to Extreme in Lower Western and Riverina. Very
High in Central West Slopes and Plains and South West Slopes.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers on the far north coast, otherwise fine. Hot to very
hot inland. Northeast to northwest winds.
Forecast for Friday
Isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine
elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. Northwest to northeast winds.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers on the far north coast and adjacent ranges. Fine
elsewhere. Hot to very hot inland. North to northeast winds.
