Wind Power For Farmers

FARGO - Jan 26/09 - SNS -- North Dakota State University's (NDSU) Extension Service is offered an overview of wind turbines for onfarm use in a February 13, 2009 webcast.

"Basics of Farm/Residential Small Wind Turbines" will take place from 11 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Participants need a computer with Internet access to take part in the program at http://connect.extension.iastate.edu/nebraska.

Topics include applications, estimating wind turbine production, policies and economics, the process for installing small wind turbines, small wind system components and technology questions.

The presenter is Antonio C. Jimenez of the National Renewable Energy Laboratory/National Wind Technology Center. Jimenez is a member of the NREL Wind Powering America team. He administers NREL's Native American Anemometer Loan Program and provides analysis assistance to tribes contemplating wind energy projects.

When logging on to the webcast, click on "click to enter" under the "enter as guest" heading. Insert your name to enter the meeting space. The instructions that detail how to enter the integrated phone audio conference will be on the screen when joining the meeting.
