Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 26/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EDT Friday 30 January 2009.
Warning Summary at issue time
Fire weather warning for Northern Country and Mallee forecast districts.

telephone 1300-659-217* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A ridge of high pressure will lie over southern Victoria tonight. A high
pressure system will strengthen over the Tasman Sea on Tuesday and will remain
slow moving during the remainder of the week. Several cold fronts will weaken
as they move south of Tasmania during the week, and have little impact on
Victoria.
Forecast for the rest of Monday
Fine. Light to moderate southerly winds, easing.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine. Hot to very hot with light winds tending northerly and milder coastal
seabreezes.
Maximum Fire Danger: Very high, reaching extreme in the west.
Forecast for Wednesday
Fine apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms
about the far eastern ranges. Very hot with moderate northerly winds and
afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Forecast for Thursday
Fine apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms
about the eastern ranges. Very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds.
Local afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Forecast for Friday
Fine apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms
about the eastern ranges. Very hot with moderate to fresh northerly winds.
Local afternoon coastal seabreezes.
