Australia -- Western Australia Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 16/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

WARNINGS:
Severe Thunderstorm Advice for the Central Wheatbelt and Goldfields.
Strong wind and Gale warning for coastal waters from Cape Leeuwin to Eucla.

STATE FORECAST
Kimberley: Isolated showers and thunderstorms tending scattered in the north and
east with some heavy falls. 
SW Land Division, Goldfields and Eucla: Isolated showers and thunderstorms, with
areas of rain expected over southern parts. Hail, strong winds and locally heavy
rainfall possible with thunderstorms. Weather clearing from northwestern parts
of the SW Land Division during the day.
Eastern Pilbara, eastern Gascoyne and Interior: Isolated showers and
thunderstorms. 
PERTH AND METROPOLITAN:
One or two thundery showers, clearing during the morning. Moderate S/SE winds
tending W'ly in the afternoon. Squalls possible with thunderstorms. 
MONDAY'S FORECAST TEMPERATURES:
Perth:     Min: 18    Max: 27 
Mandurah:  Min: 18    Max: 27 
HEADLINE:     Thunderstorm, clearing later.      
MONDAY'S UV INDEX: 12 [EXTREME] decreasing to 8 [VERY HIGH] under cloud
MONDAY'S FIRE DANGER:
Coastal Plain:  HIGH     
Hills:          HIGH     
MEDIUM RANGE FORECAST FOR PERTH FOR:
Tuesday   :  Fine.                               Min: 19  Max: 26 
Wednesday :  Fine.                               Min: 18  Max: 26 
Thursday  :  Fine.                               Min: 18  Max: 30
TREND FOR  FRIDAY, SATURDAY and SUNDAY:
Unsettled at first then fine. Maximum temperatures: Mid thirties falling to mid
twenties. 
PERTH DETAILS:
The overnight minimum was 21.5 at 0046 hours
