Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 16/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings
A Strong wind warning is current for coastal waters east of Cape Otway.
Weather Pattern
A high pressure system will develop well south of the Bight on Monday then move
slowly eastwards over the next few days as a broad low pressure trough develops
over South Australia.
Victoria
Monday:    Patchy rain in the east clearing early morning. Light showers and
drizzle across the south becoming isolated and contracting to the coast.
Generally cool to mild with moderate southerly winds, fresh about the coast.
UV Index: 11 [extreme] decreasing 5 [moderate] under cloud
Tuesday:   Fine in the north. Isolated showers and drizzle in the south, mainly
coastal. Mild to warm.
Wednesday: Local early fog in the south and morning drizzle far east coast
otherwise fine. Mild to warm.
Thursday:  Fine in most parts. Isolated showers and isolated thunderstorms later
in the west. Warm to hot.

afternoon and evening.
Thursday:  East to southeasterly wind 10 to 15 knots, reaching 20 knots late
afternoon and evening.
Headline Melbourne: Becoming fine.  
Headline Victoria:  Patchy rain clearing east. Light showers in south becoming
