Strong Tone For Red, Green LentilsVANCOUVER - Jan 23/09 - SNS -- Red and green lentil markets maintained their strong tone through the past week, with markets advancing at both the gropwer and inter-dealer levels. Markets in the United States were got a little help from ongoing demand for lentils for shipment as food aid. During the week, the USDA requested offers on another 400 metric tons (MT) of lentils for shipment in March, bringing the total quantity bought so far this season for food aid to 37,398 MT, down 11,000 from the same seven-month period last season.
