Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Jan 2/09 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Strong Wind Warning for NSW coastal waters south of Montague Island and north of
Wooli. Refer to www.bom.gov.au for the latest warning information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure system near Tasmania extends a ridge along New South Wales
coast. On Saturday the high will move over the Tasman Sea maintaining the ridge
across the northeast of the state. During Sunday a broad low pressure trough is
expected to develop over the west possible bringing isolated afternoon showers
and thunderstorms there.
Forecast for Saturday
Isolated showers about the central and northern coasts and ranges. The chance of
afternoon showers over the far northeastern inland. Fine elsewhere. Southeast to
northeast winds.
Fire danger: Very High in Riverina.
Forecast for Sunday
Fine in the far west and in the northeast. Isolated showers or thunderstorms
elsewhere.  Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Monday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the central parts of the state. Fine
elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
Forecast for Tuesday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the southeast and northwest. Fine
elsewhere. Southeast to northeast winds.
