Solid Drop in Frozen Poultry
WASHINGTON - Dec 22 - SNS -- Total frozen poultry supplies at the end of November were down 13% from the previous month, and 28% above last year, according to the USDA's latest report on agricultural products in cold storage.
At 818 million pounds, total stocks of chicken were up almost 21 million pounds from the previous month, and up 14% from last year. Frozen egg stocks were down 4% on the month at 21 million pounds.
At 370.2 million pounds, total pounds of turkey in freezers were down 36% from last month and up roughly 164 million pounds from last year.
