Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 10/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Weather Pattern
A low pressure trough will persist over eastern Victoria on Tuesday. A high
pressure ridge south of Victoria will weaken on Wednesday as a cold front moves
across Tasmania. A high pressure system will then develop southwest of Victoria
on Thursday before moving to the east of Tasmania on Friday.

Tuesday:   Fine apart from local morning drizzle about the coast and isolated
afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms in the far east. Areas of smoke
haze in the east. Warm in the north, milder over southern districts. Light to
moderate southerly winds. Fresh seabreezes developing near the coast in the
afternoon.
Fire Danger: High to very high in the north, moderate to high in the south.
UV Index: 13 [extreme] decreasing 8 [very high] under cloud
Wednesday: Fine apart from early fogs in the south and isolated thunderstorms in
the east. Generally warm to hot. 
Thursday:  Fine apart from morning coastal drizzle and isolated thunderstorms in
the east. Mild to warm.
Friday:    Fine apart from early fogs in the south and isolated thunderstorms in
the east. Warm to hot.
