Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 2/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Minor Flood Warning for the Namoi River. Refer to www.bom.gov.au for the latest
warning information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A low pressure trough lies over northeastern New South Wales and a weak high
pressure ridge extends across the remainder. Afternoon showers and thunderstorms
are expected near the trough. On Friday a cold front will move across the west
and southeast of the state bringing showers and thunderstorms to most of the
districts. During Saturday a broad low pressure area is expected to develop
across the north.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine for the
remainder apart isolated showers over the far southeast. Northerly winds in the
northeast, southwest winds elsewhere with coastal seabreezes.
Fire danger: Very High in the Riverina.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers near the
south and central coasts. Showers or patchy rain developing in the west. Fine
elsewhere. Northeast to northwest winds.
Forecast for Friday
Patchy rain or showers, contracting northeast and clearing. Isolated
thunderstorms in the northeast. Northwest to southwest winds and coastal
seabreezes.
Forecast for Saturday
Showers and thunderstorms in the north. Fine elsewhere. Southwest to southeast
winds.
