Australia -- New South Wales Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Dec 1/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warning Summary:
Minor to Moderate Flood Warning for the Namoi River. Refer to www.bom.gov.au for
the latest warning information.
Current Weather Situation and Future Developments:
A high pressure ridge lies across New South Wales and is bringing fine weather
conditions to most of the state.  On Tuesday the ridge will weaken as a low
pressure trough develops over the central parts of the state, but some
instability over the north coast may lead to isolated afternoon showers and
thunderstorms. On Wednesday the trough should remain over the northeast with
further afternoon showers and thunderstorms possible. A cold front is expected
to move through the state on Friday, preceded by areas of rain or showers.
Forecast for Tuesday
Fine apart from the chance of isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms over
the north coast. Light to moderate west to northwest winds and coastal
seabreezes.
Fire danger: Very High in the Riverina.
Forecast for Wednesday
Isolated afternoon showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Fine for the
remainder apart isolated showers over the far southeast. Northerly winds in the
northeast, southwest winds elsewhere with coastal seabreezes.
Forecast for Thursday
Isolated showers and thunderstorms in the northeast. Isolated showers developing
in the west. Isolated showers and drizzle over the southeast, clearing.
Northeast to northwest winds.
Forecast for Friday
Areas of patchy rain or showers, contracting east and clearing during the day.
Northwest to northeast winds ahead of a west to southwest change.
