Australia -- Queensland Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Nov 29/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Queensland was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. IDQ1070001 WARNING SUMMARY Nil STATE FORECAST for Saturday night and Sunday Isolated showers and thunderstorms across northern and eastern districts contracting NE later today. Moist NW winds generally, shifting drier SW'ly over the interior with the passage of a surface trough. By Sunday the surface trough stalling near the Gulf and near Bowen. Showers and thunderstorms north of the trough and fine over the remainder. Dry SW winds over the SE and about the east coast shifting SE'ly and NE'ly by the afternoon. EXTENDED OUTLOOK Similar weather for Monday except the trough falls back inland on the central coast leading to isolated showers and thunderstorms. Similar situation for Tuesday with isolated showers and thunderstorms extending south to the Capricorn coast. A new trough enters western districts but with no weather. By Wednesday, showers and thunderstorms in the tropics and developing over the SE in the afternoon ahead of a new trough. By Thursday, the trough stalls in the Darling Downs and maintains the thunderstorm development, patchy rain entering western --- STAT News Service
