Australia -- New South Wales Weather UpdateMELBOURNE - Nov 28/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of New South Wales was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology. Warning Summary: Major Flood Warning for the Peel River. Strong Wind Warning for coastal waters north of Smoky Cape. Ocean Wind Warning. Refer to www.bom.gov.au for the latest warning information. Current Weather Situation and Future Developments: A low pressure system will deepen in the Tasman Sea during Saturday as a high pressure ridge moves into NSW behind it. As a result, the weather through much of western NSW will be fine. A low pressure trough will however linger across northeastern New South Wales and continue to produce showers or thunderstorms in the east. A clearing trend however is expected through Saturday, with weather over most of the state fine by Sunday. Fine weather is expected to continue through until the middle of the week as the ridge remains over the state. Forecast for Saturday Scattered showers and isolated thunderstorms in the east. Mostly fine in the west, just the chance of a shower or two in the far southwest during the afternoon. Southwest winds extending throughout. Forecast for Sunday Isolated clearing showers over the western slopes of the far southern ranges. Fine elsewhere. West to southwest winds. Forecast for Monday Isolated showers over the western slopes of the far southern ranges. West to southwest winds and coastal seabreezes. Forecast for Tuesday Fine throughout.
