MELBOURNE - Feb 7/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

A low pressure trough will persist over eastern Victoria into next week. A high
pressure ridge will remain over waters south of Victoria.

Saturday:  Fine except for isolated drizzle patches in the south, and isolated
afternoon and evening showers and thunderstorms possible in the far east this
afternoon. A warm and sunny day in the north, although smoke haze persisting in
the northeast. Mild and partly cloudy in the south with light to moderate
southerly winds and afternoon coastal seabreezes.
Fire Danger: High to very high in the north. Moderate to high in the south. 
UV Index: 11 [extreme] decreasing 5 [moderate]
Sunday:    Morning coastal drizzle. Isolated thunderstorms in the east. Mild to
warm.
