Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Feb 6/03 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

Warnings
A strong wind warning is current for Victorian coastal waters east of Lakes
Entrance.
Weather Pattern
A low pressure trough will persist over eastern Victoria into next week. A weak
cold front will move across Tasmania later today and overnight then a ridge of
high pressure will develop south of Victoria during the weekend. 
Victoria
Friday:    Drizzle patches in the south mostly clearing during the morning,
before re-developing later in the day and tonight. Isolated showers and
thunderstorms during the afternoon and evening about the eastern ranges. A
generally warm and sunny day in the north but milder in the south. Southwest to
southerly wind gradually extending to most areas and becoming locally fresh in
the west.
Fire Danger:      High to very high in the north. Moderate to high in the south.
UV Index: 11 [extreme] decreasing 5 [moderate]
Saturday:  Local morning drizzle in the south. Isolated thunderstorms in the
east. Mild to warm. 
Sunday:    Morning coastal drizzle. Isolated thunderstorms about the east. Mild
to warm.
Monday:    Morning coastal drizzle. Isolated thunderstorms about the east. Mild
to warm.
Forecast for Melbourne
Friday
Morning drizzle patches clearing to a fine afternoon with sunny periods
developing. Mainly light wind tending moderate southerly and becoming locally
fresh during the afternoon and evening.

Friday:    West to southwesterly wind to around 10 knots tending southerly at 10
to 15 knots then increasing to 15 to 20 knots during the afternoon and evening.
Waves around half a metre rising to 1 metre during the afternoon. 
Saturday:  South to southeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots, reaching 20 knots
during the afternoon and evening. Waves rising to 1 metre. 
Sunday:    South to southeasterly wind of 10 to 20 knots.
Monday:    South to southeasterly wind of 10 to 15 knots, reaching 20 knots in
the afternoon.
Headline Melbourne: Becoming fine.
