Australia -- Victoria Weather Update

MELBOURNE - Nov 5/08 - SNS -- The current forecast for the state of Western Australia was released by Australia's Bureau of Meteorology.

for the period until midnight EDT Sunday 9 November 2008.
Warning Summary at issue time

Details of warnings are available on the Bureau's website www.bom.gov.au, by
telephone 1300-659-217* or through some TV and radio broadcasts.
Weather Situation
A low pressure system will develop over the Bight during today and will pass
just to the south of the State later Friday as an associated cold front crosses
Victoria. The front will clear Victoria by early Saturday. A ridge of high
pressure will extend across the State on Sunday.
Forecast for the rest of Thursday
Isolated showers near the coast clearing in the afternoon. Fine and mostly
sunny inland. Mild to warm with moderate westerly winds and afternoon coastal
seabreezes.
Maximum Fire Danger: Generally High
Forecast for Friday
Areas of rain and isolated thunderstorms developing from the west. Morning fog
patches over Gippsland. A mild day with fresh to strong northerly winds turning
westerly in the west in the evening.
Forecast for Saturday
Early rain in the east clearing. Isolated showers, more widespread near the
coast. Cool to mild with fresh to strong westerly winds.
Forecast for Sunday
Isolated showers near the coast. Fine and mostly sunny inland. Mild with
moderate westerly winds and local afternoon coastal seabreezes.
The next routine forecast will be issued at 4:30 pm EDT Thursday.
